"The concept behind the tool is genuinely useful, especially for small indie developers like us."
Why indie devs use PlayScout

Questions
Which games should I enter?
The easiest way is to paste your Steam link. We pull your game's tags and the games Steam lists as similar, and you can pick a genre too. Or type two to five games a player of yours would also play. Smaller indie games usually find better fits than huge titles, because their creators actively look for games like yours.
Where do the creators come from?
We search YouTube and Twitch for videos and streams of those games from the last two years, plus smaller indie games with the same Steam tags, then rank each creator by how well they fit your genre, how recently they posted, and how likely they are to reply. We also check the recent uploads of top YouTube matches, so channels that mostly play indies or your genre move up and channels that mostly play huge games like Fortnite move down. Game studios and official channels are left out.
The list is long. Where do I start?
Every list opens on a "Start here" shortlist of 25: creators who posted in the last six months and have a way to reach them. It mixes strong matches with a few Hidden finds, smaller channels we found through games in your genre that you'd never find by searching your own game.
Where do the emails come from?
Only from what creators publish themselves, in their channel bio or video descriptions. When there's no email, we show their X, Discord, Instagram or other links so you can still reach them.
How is this different from a hand-made list?
Those services research by hand and take time. PlayScout searches live data in seconds, shows you your best matches before you pay, and covers every creator it finds, not just 50.
What do I get when I pay?
Searches. One search is one set of games you look up, and each one gives you the full ranked list, every contact we found and a CSV download. Buy 1 search, or 3 for a better price per search. Your lists are saved to your account, so you can reopen them on any device.
Is this a subscription?
No. You pay once for the searches you need, and your lists stay in your account. Most indie devs only need creator lists around a demo, a Next Fest or a launch, so we don't bill you every month in between.
Do I need an account?
Not to try it. The free top 10 needs no sign-up. When you buy, your lists are saved to your account. Sign in with Google or with a link we email you. There's no password.
Does it help with follow-ups?
Yes. Save creators to the Outreach board and move them along as they reply. If you're signed in, you can turn on an email reminder when someone you contacted hasn't replied in a week. The Templates tab has first emails and follow-ups you can copy.
My search said to try again later. What happened?
YouTube limits how many searches we can run each day. When we hit that limit, leave your email and we'll run your search the next morning and email you the link.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. If a search finds nothing useful, email hello@tryplayscout.com within 7 days of buying and we'll give you a refund or a free search, whichever you prefer.
Something went wrong. How do I reach you?
Use the Feedback button at the top of the page, or email hello@tryplayscout.com. A real person reads every message.
I'm a creator. Can I be removed?
Yes. Email hello@tryplayscout.com with your channel link and we'll take it out of results.
