Privacy Policy

PlayScout is run by Built With Vibes (BWV). This policy explains what we collect when you use PlayScout and what we do with it.
YouTube API Services
PlayScout uses YouTube API Services to find public YouTube videos and channels related to the games you search for. By using PlayScout you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
We only read public information through the API: video titles, descriptions, view counts, publish dates, and channel names, descriptions, subscriber counts and thumbnails. We do not ask you to sign in with Google or YouTube, and we never access your YouTube account or any private data.
Search results are cached on our server for up to 12 hours to reduce repeat requests, then discarded. We do not keep a long-term database of YouTube data.
What we collect from you
- Games you search for. Sent to YouTube and Twitch to find creators. Not linked to your identity.
- Payment details. When you buy a list, payment is handled by Stripe. We receive your email address and the games you searched, but never your card number. See the Stripe Privacy Policy.
- Email address. Your email is your PlayScout account. We use it to send you the list you bought and sign-in links, through our email provider Resend, and to find your purchases when you sign in. If you sign in with Google or GitHub, we only ask them for your verified email address, nothing else. We only send marketing emails if you tick the "email me updates" box before checkout, and every one has an unsubscribe link.
- Sign-in cookie. When you sign in, we set one cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 90 days. It holds your email and a signature, and nothing else.
- Your outreach tracker. The creators you save are stored in your browser. If you're signed in, they're also saved to your account on our host (Vercel) so they sync across devices, and we use them to send follow-up reminders, which you can turn off at any time.
- Basic server logs. Our host, Vercel, keeps standard request logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and debugging.
We do not sell your data or use advertising or tracking cookies.
Creator information
Creator details shown in PlayScout come only from what creators publish publicly on YouTube and Twitch, such as a business email in their channel description. If you are a creator and want your channel excluded, contact us and we will remove it.
Your choices
You can ask us to delete any data we hold about you, such as your purchase email, by contacting us. You can also revoke PlayScout's access to YouTube data at any time through the Google security settings page, although PlayScout never requests access to your account.
